Baglio Vecchio

Immersed in the enchanting Sicilian countryside, this historic baglio, dating back to the 18th century, has recently undergone a careful and refined restoration. Far from the bustle of the city, it offers a peaceful retreat where the authentic rural character of the surroundings blends harmoniously with attentive and high-quality hospitality.

The agriturismo features ten elegant rooms and five apartments, designed to ensure comfort and relaxation, as well as an on-site restaurant dedicated to local flavours and tradition. Beyond the thick and ancient stone walls, guests are welcomed by the serenity and beauty of the estate, with its centuries-old olive groves, historic vineyards, and a lush woodland extending over approximately 11 hectares.

This unique natural setting creates a mild Mediterranean climate that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Guests can also take advantage of a refined swimming pool, table tennis, a bocce court, and bicycles available for exploring the surrounding countryside.

  • RESTAURANT: A place dedicated to the rediscovery of authentic flavours from the past, where guests can enjoy delicacies born from the land and the work of man.

  • SURROUNDINGS: For those wishing to explore the beauty of the surrounding area, the most important tourist destinations can be reached easily and in a short time.

  • LEISURE TIME: The property offers its guests an elegant swimming pool, perfect for enjoying the famous Sicilian sunshine and a relaxing hydromassage, as well as table tennis, a bocce court and a children’s play area.

  • EXCURSIONS: Guests can explore the internal trails of the estate on foot, by bicycle, by car, or aboard an ancient and characteristic tractor, and take part in grape harvesting, olive picking, and all other traditional agricultural activities.

  • THE NATURE RESERVE: Baglio Vecchio also offers the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of its own private “reserve”, a woodland of approximately 11 hectares featuring tall trees such as oaks, elms, olive trees, carob trees and pistachio trees, enriched by a typical Mediterranean undergrowth.

  • TASTINGS: We organise tastings of our own products, including the extra virgin olive oil “Tenuta Zangara”, which embodies the finest expression of Sicily’s long-standing olive-growing tradition.

Naturale Ospitalità

La “Tenuta Zangara”, fulcro dell’azienda agricola, appartiene alla famiglia d’Alì sin dal 1856. La proprietà è situata in una zona collinare tra le più fertili della Sicilia, conosciuta ed apprezzata già dai Greci e dagli Arabi. Nelle sue vicinanze si stagliano ancora oggi le antiche colonne greche di Selinunte. Tutta l’area è particolarmente vocata all’olivicoltura ed è nota al mondo per le eccezionali caratteristiche delle olive della cultivar “Nocellara del Belice”.
